His Royal Majesty, Oba (Dr) Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, has congratulated His Excellency, Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, on his re-election as Governor of Osun State.
Oba Arowotawaya II, in a congratulatory message, described Adeleke’s triumph at the polls as a reflection of the confidence and trust Osun people reposed in him.
Elerinmo commended Governor Adeleke for what he described as notable achievements and development strides recorded during his first tenure, particularly in areas of infrastructure, human capital development, education, healthcare, workers’ welfare and other sectors that directly affect the lives of the people.
According to Elerinmo, Adeleke’s renewed mandate would provide opportunities for the Governor to consolidate on his achievements, complete ongoing projects and pursue policies capable of improving the welfare and prosperity of the people of Osun State, while urging the Governor to extend the gesture to other areas including his domain, Erinmo-Ijesa.
“We congratulate His Excellency, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election. The people have spoken, and we respect their democratic choice. We urge the Governor to see this renewed mandate as a greater responsibility to unite the people, deepen development and ensure that every part of Osun State benefits from his administration,” Oba Elerinmo stated.
The monarch also congratulated all stakeholders who contributed to the peaceful conduct of the election and particularly commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who has proved once again that he is a true democrat who is ready to be fair to all by upholding democratic principles and allowing the electoral process to take its course.
He noted that the peaceful conduct of the election and respect for the democratic process demonstrated the importance of strengthening Nigeria’s democratic institutions and the reforms which are now yielding obvious positive fruits nationwide.
Oba Ajayi applauded Governor Adeleke for extending the hand of fellowship to all stakeholders, irrespective of their political affiliations, and making the second term a period of greater unity, inclusiveness and accelerated development.
He further called on the people of Osun State, especially youths, to support the administration and remain committed to peace, responsible citizenship and the continued development of the state.
Oba Elerinmo also used the opportunity to praise the Ooni of Ife, Arole Oduduwa, Ooni Adeyeye Babatunde Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II and the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland, Owa Clement Adesuyi Haastrup, Ajimoko III for their firmness in curtailing the potentially violent tides occasioned by animosity arising from the campaigns that would have engulfed the state.
“On behalf of the people of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom, I once again congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on this renewed mandate. We pray that Almighty God grants him wisdom, good health, strength and the courage to deliver even greater dividends of democracy to the people of Osun State,” Kabiyesi Elerinmo added.
