Hundreds of Lagos students filled the Funflex Event Center along CMD Road, Lagos, yesterday as Lindel Global Consult, Funfex Event Center, and Zealand Properties hosted a landmark funfair to celebrate Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary.
Packed with energetic cultural displays, vibrant fashion parades, and inspiring mentorship from top industry executives, the event successfully united public and private schools under one shared vision: celebrating the nation’s rich history while nurturing its promising future.
Held under the inspiring theme, “Bigger and Better: My Nation, My Heritage,” the event served as a joyful celebration of national identity, rich cultural heritage, and the promising future of the Nigerian youth.
Young participants showcased their talents through energetic traditional dances, captivating cultural displays, and a colorful fashion parade highlighting Nigeria’s diverse ethnic attire.
Speaking on the vision behind the celebration, the Convener and Chief Executive Officer of Lindel Global Resources, Dr. Loretta Onyia, noted that the event was carefully curated to be a holistic experience.
“This was more than just a party; it was a celebration of our people, our culture, and our tomorrow,” Dr. Onyia stated. “We wanted to instill a deep sense of pride and cultural appreciation in our children, ensuring they understand the richness of their heritage while having fun.”
The success of the Independence Day celebration was made possible through the generous sponsorship of Zealand Properties and Zenith Bank Plc, whose commitment to community development and youth empowerment played a pivotal role in bringing the vision to life.
Adding a strong mentoring dimension to the festivities, Zealand Properties CEO Dr. Adedeji Agarawu delivered an inspiring keynote address to the students.
He encouraged the young attendees to remain steadfast, hardworking, and dedicated to their academic pursuits, while passionately urging them to cultivate patriotism as future leaders of the nation.
The event concluded with awards, gifts, and joyful celebrations, leaving lasting memories for the students, teachers, and parents in attendance.
