Billionaire businessman Tony Elumelu, through his foundation, the Tony Elumelu Foundation (TEF), will unveil a total of 3,110 young African entrepreneurs from 54 African countries on March 22.
Since 2023, the foundation has appointed Ernst & Young (EY) to anchor the selection process for the TEF Entrepreneurship Programme.
Each selected Tony Elumelu Foundation Entrepreneur will be granted access to undergo the programme to receive:
- $5,000 in non-refundable seed capital to kickstart or scale their business.
- World-class business management, AI, and green economy training.
- One-on-one mentorship from industry experts.
- Access to global networks and investment opportunities to support long-term growth.
In a statement on Thursday, TEF said its work is vital in providing access to funding, mentorship, coaching, training, and resources, to catalyse entrepreneurial businesses to further job creation, poverty alleviation, and inclusive economic empowerment across the African continent.
It wrote, “Every year, we witness such extraordinary display of innovation, drive, and resilience as applications from hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs across Africa are received on TEFConnect.com.”
