On Friday, the Nigerian equities market closed on a bright note, reversing the losses recorded in two previous sessions, on renewed interest in NAHCO (+10.00%), CADBURY (+10.00%), BETAGLAS (+9.96%), PRESCO (+9.55%), NB (+6.98%), FIDSON (+3.86%), FIDELITYBK (+2.01%), MTNN (+2.00%), and 20 others.
As such, the NGXASI rose 23 basis points to close at 106,042.57 points, up from 105,800.85 points on Wednesday as investors gained N151.92bn, with Market capitalisation increasing to N66.65trn, while the year-to-date return rose to 3.03%. Investment advisory services
Market sentiment closed negatively at -0.19x, with 39 losers against 28 gainers. NAHCO and CADBURY led the gainers’ chart, while DAARCOMM topped the losers’ chart. Meanwhile, NAHCO, BETAGLAS, ABCTRANS, PRESCO and CWG traded above their 52-week highs at N82.50, N109.80, N2.26, N860.00, and N10.15.
The total volume traded advanced by 45.89% to close at 573.33m, valued at N15.25bn and traded in 18,554 deals. ACCESSCORP was the most traded stock by volume, with 52.82m units traded, while GTCO was the most traded stock by value, worth 2.05bn.
Volume and Value Contribution
ACCESSCORP was the most traded in volume, with a 9.21% share, while CHAMS and UBA followed closely with 8.99% and 6.28%, respectively.
GTCO contributed the most in value traded, with a 13,45% share, while MTNN and SEPLAT followed closely.
NASD OTC Exchange – Unlisted Equities
Similarly, the NASD Securities Index (NSI) closed positively, rising 0.26% at 3,289.66 points from the 3,281.07 points recorded on Wednesday.
The total volume traded was 8.49m units, valued at N15.74m, across 16 deals.
At the close of trading, the NASD OTC recorded two (2) gainers and two (2) losers.

AFEX Commodity Prices
On Friday, the AFEX Commodity Market saw maize and soybeans increase 3.02% and 0.19% to close at N551.61 and N1,033.44, respectively, while cocoa decreased 15.01% to close at N10,226.01.
Global Commodity Prices
The global commodity market was largely bearish as of 2:17 PM GMT on Friday. Gold increased 0.85% to close at US$3,244.75, while Silver decreased 0.22% to close at $32.15. Brent and WTI crude futures were down 1.88% and 2.06% to close at $60.96 and $58.02, respectively, as traders squared positions ahead of an OPEC+ meeting and showed caution over the possibility of a de-escalation of the trade dispute between China and the United States.
CURRENCY/ FX MARKET
