NGX – Listed Equities
Equities on NGX began the trading week bullish, recouping some of the losses recorded last week. The All-Share Index was up by 79 basis points to close at 109,884.92 points, up from 109,028.62 points on Friday. The year-to-date return increased to 6.76%.
As such, investors gained N539.98bn with market capitalisation closing at N69.29trn on renewed investors’ interest in ARADEL (+9.98%), BUAFOODS (+5.26%), NAHCO (+4.93%), FIRSTHOLDCO (+2.39%), ZENITHBANK (+1.79%), ACCESSCORP (+1.62%), OANDO (+0.21%), TRANSCORP (+0.12%), STANBIC (+0.07%), and 24 others. Market sentiment closed bullish, with 33 gainers against 31 losers. ARADEL led the gainers’ chart, while TRIPPLEG topped the losers’ chart. Meanwhile, BUAFOODS traded above its 52-week high at N440.00, whereas VFDGROUP traded below its 52-week high at N14.60.
The total volume traded fell by 34.98% to close at 414.51m, valued at N11.09bn and transacted in 19,775 deals. FIDELITYBK closed with the highest volume, with 46.77m units traded, while GTCO closed with the highest value, amounting to N1.74bn.
The memorandum Proshare price-weighted index increased 1.15% from 651.97 points to 658.68 points, while the Proshare float-adjusted index rose 0.43% to close at 469.02 points from 467.65 points.
Volume and Value Contribution
FIDELITYBK was the most traded in volume, with an 11.28% share, while CUSTODIAN and ACCESSCORP followed closely with 8.96% and 8.67%, respectively.
GTCO contributed the most in value traded, with a 15.65% share, while ZENITHBANK and FIDELITYBK followed closely.
NASD OTC Exchange – Unlisted Equities
Conversely, the NASD Securities Index (NSI) closed negatively, down 0.04% at 3,187.48 points from the 3,188.76 points recorded on Friday.
The total volume traded was 888,775 units, valued at N22.65m, across 24 deals.
At the close of trading, the NASD OTC recorded one (1) gainer and one (1) loser.

AFEX Commodity Prices
At the AFEX Commodity Market on Monday, Paddy rice, soybeans and cocoa increased 9.43%, 5.66% and 5.59%, to close at N615.00, N1,046.00 and N12,000.00, respectively, while cashew, maize and sorghum fell 3.13%, 1.07% and 0.86%, respectively, to close at N1,640.00, N534.06 and N575.00.
Global Commodity Prices
The global commodity market was balanced as of 2:18 PM GMT on Monday. Gold and Silver decreased 0.60% and 0.42% to close at US$3,338.58 and $33.35, respectively.
Brent and WTI crude futures were up 0.61% and 0.25% to close at $64.60 and $61.35, after U.S. President Donald Trump extended a deadline for trade talks with the European Union, easing concerns about U.S. tariffs on the bloc that could hit fuel demand.
CURRENCY/ FX MARKET
