On Wednesday, the equities market traded bullish, reversing the gains recorded in two previous sessions due to renewed investors interests in banking stocks like UBA (+5.59%), ZENITHBANK (+5.32%), ACCESSCORP (+4.49%), GTCO (+4.43%), FIDELITYBK (+1.92%), STANBIC (+0.63%), other stocks like BETAGLAS (+9.99%), SEPLAT (+9.78%), CUSTODIAN (-5.57%), TRANSPOWER (+8.22%), BERGER (+8.00%), IMG (+7.38%), ARADEL (+7.36%), MTNN (+4.79%), OANDO (+4.72%), NASCON (+4.22%), PRESCO (+3.50%), CADBURY (+2.42%), NAHCO (+2.31%), DANGCEM (+0.25%), and 16 others.
The All-Share Index climbed 163 basis points to close at 116,786.87 points, up from 114,910.16 points on the previous trading day.
Investors gained N1.18trn with market capitalisation closing at N73.68trn. Consequently, the year-to-date (YTD) return rose to 13.47%.
Market sentiments closed bullish, with 36 gainers compared to 30 losers. NEM led the gainers’ list and traded above its 52-week high at N16.50, while ETERNA topped the losers’ list. Meanwhile, BERGER also traded above its 52-week high at N27.00.
The total traded volume fell by 18.70% to close at 640.08m, valued at N26.01bn in 19,727 deals. ZENITHBANK closed with the highest volume and value, with 149.92m units traded, valued at N7.21bn, which was attributed to the clarification issued by the bank on its single obligor limit (SOL) loan Forbearance and the regulatory forbearance on other loans.
Volume and Value Contribution
ZENITHBANK was the most traded in volume, contributing 23.42% of the total volume, while ACCESSCORP and UBA followed with 7.60% and 6.72%, of daily traded volume.
ZENITHBANK saw the highest traded value, with a 27.70% share of the total value contribution, while NB and TRANSPOWER followed closely.
NASD OTC Exchange – Unlisted Equities
Conversely, the NASDAQ Securities Index (NSI) closed bearish, falling 0.72% to 3,335.35 points from 3,359.50 points recorded on Tuesday.
The total volume traded was 839,331 units, valued at N48.08m, across 61 deals.
At the close of trading, the NASD OTC recorded four (4) gainers and three (3) losers.

AFEX Indices
On Wednesday, the AFEX ACI was up 3.52% to close at N63.30, while AEI closed flat at N78.44.
AFEX Commodity Prices
At the AFEX Commodity Market on Wednesday, maize and soybeans appreciated 6.43% and 5.62% to close at N884.09 and N477.31, respectively.
Global Commodity Prices
The global commodity market was largely bearish as of 2:28 PM GMT on Wednesday. Gold and Silver fell 0.32% and 0.73% to close at US$3,378.68 and US$36.79.
Brent decreased 2.05% to close at US$74.88, while WTI crude futures increased 0.46% to close at US$73.61, driven by the Iran-Israel conflict, though major oil and gas infrastructure and flows have so far been spared from substantial impact.
CURRENCY/ FX MARKET
