Oba Elerinmo to be Honoured as 'Unilorin Ambassador'

 

…set to grace University of Ilorin’s 50th anniversary

The paramount ruler of Erinmo-Ijesa Kingdom in Osun State, Oba Dr. Michael Odunayo Ajayi, Arowotawaya II, the Elerinmo of Erinmo has once again added another feather to his cap, bagging an Ambassadorial honour from the University of Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a formal letter of Investiture signed by the Institute’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Wahab Egbewole SAN, he stated:

“I am pleased to inform you that the management of the University of Ilorin has approved your nomination as a Unilorin Ambassador for your steadfast commitment to promoting the ideals and image of the University.

“Through your academic engagements and public representations, you have consistently portrayed the University in a most favourable light, for which we are deeply appreciative,” added Unilorin VC.

Elerinmo who was recently conferred with the Honorary Fellow of the Institute of information management (FIMM) Africa, in London, United kingdom for his unwavering impact and commitment towards information management has been in the news with rolls of accolades and honours.

Oba Arowotawaya II is a Fellow, Institute of Alternative  Dispute Resolution of Nigeria (FiADRN) and Fellow, Institute of Conflict Management of Nigeria (FiCMN). He is the National Deputy President, Yoruba Obas Forum (YOF) and also serves in other Boards as influential member, including patron to many organisations, youth and cultural bodies.

He was a special guest at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Batch A Stream 1 Orientation Course in Osun State chapter, where he delivered a lecture, educating the young adults about the rich culture and traditions of the Osun State among other things.

Oba Elerinmo, as a cerebral monarch, has played pivotal leadership roles in traditional and cultural matters including national issues as it concerns grassroots and traditional rulers.

The monarch has actively participated in the annual conference of the African Consortium for Law and Religion Studies (ACLAR) headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethopia with conferences held in many African countries.

With the invitation for recognition and Investiture as the Unilorin Ambassador, by the Institute’s management, to mark the University’s 50th anniversary celebration, Oba Ajayi, who is a former student of the institution, has continued to garner much visibility both in the corporate and academic circle as a prominent traditional ruler with impactful contributions to the society.

According to information, about 50 ex-students of the University of Ilorin who have excelled in their various field of endeavours will be honoured as Ambassadors.
