Nigerian business magnate and industrialist Oscar Ibru has passed away at the age of 67 after a brief illness. As the chairman of the esteemed Ibru Organisation, he was the first son of the renowned industrialist Michael Ibru.

A prominent figure in the Ibru dynasty, Oscar Ibru was a key player in Nigeria’s business and social circles. He hailed from Agbarha-Otor in the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Following his death, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori joined the Urhobo nation and all Nigerians in mourning the prominent businessman and philanthropist.

In a statement from his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, the governor described Ibru’s passing as a “huge loss” to the Urhobo people, Delta State, and the entire nation.

Governor Oborevwori honored Ibru as a man of service, enterprise, and generosity. He highlighted Ibru’s lasting contributions through the Ibru Organisation, which created jobs, built strong institutions, and supported community development in Delta and other regions.

The governor concluded by praying for the repose of his soul and urging the Ibru family and the Urhobo nation to find comfort in his significant impact on society.
