In a continuation of her ever increasing global reckoning and social intervention towards human development in the society, the wife of the Governor of Osun State, Amb. Erelu Ngozi Abeni Adeleke FEL. CIML, has yet, added another outstanding award of honour to her numerous.
Erelu Adeleke who has relentlessly proved her passion-driven interventions with massive empowerment and life improvement initiatives, has drawn global attention to her kitty, with award upon awards, signifying her effortless advocacy towards holistic wellbeing of humanity.
At the heels of the just concluded special anniversary of Nigeria’s independence marked in New York, United States, Her Excellency, Abeni Adeleke was honoured with a prestigious award of “Outstanding Excellence in Social Empowerment,” thus, signifying her ever increasing relevance in the global stage.
Under the auspices of Nigeria’s Consulate office in New York, Amb. Erelu Adeleke who was accompanied to the event by her reliable allies that include Deaconess Olusola Adewusi, wife of the Deputy Governor of Osun State, Dr. Emily, Dr. Linda, and other friends and well-wishers were treated to special dinner where the award ceremony was held, in commemoration of the Nigeria’s 65th independence anniversary.
Expressing her joy while receiving the award, Erelu Ngozi Abeni stated that it gladdens her heart that Nigerians recognise her humble impacts toward drives to add meaning to life.
She said: “I was honoured with an “Award of Outstanding Excellence in Social Empowerment” at the Nigerian 65th Independence awards dinner 2025, held in New York, United States of America.
“It gladdens my heart that Nigerians see what I am doing, and they appreciate my humble contributions to humanity, encouraging me to do more with numerous awards that I have received,” Erelu Adeleke stated.
In addition, she expressed her gratitude for the recognition, noting that such honour encourages her to do more.
“I expressed my heartfelt appreciation to the organizers for this noble recognition. I also encouraged dignitaries at the event to always be proud of their Nigerian identity. We are Nigerians, and I am proud to be a Nigerian,” she added.
Meanwhile, the prestigious event drew dignitaries from across the globe that include Her Excellency, Dr. Amina J. Mohammed (GCON); Deputy Secretary-General of the United Nations; H.E. Amb. Samson Itegboje;
Ambassador/Charge d’Affaires, Nigeria Permanent Mission to the United Nations and Ambassador Abubakar Jidda; Consular General, Nigerian Embassy, New York as the host of the dinner award.
Others include Dr. Eromonsele Idahosa; Ambassador Nicholas Agbo Ella; former Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources Nigeria among others.
