Presco Plc has announced the appointment of Mr. François Van Hoydonck as a Non-Executive Director to fill a casual vacancy on the company’s Board of Directors. This appointment was disclosed in a corporate notice filed with the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX).
The company stated that the appointment will be presented to shareholders for ratification at the next Annual General Meeting (AGM).
Mr François Van Hoydoncke is a seasoned business executive and finance professional with over four decades of experience in the agribusiness and plantation sector.
A Belgian national born on 29 August 1959, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy and Tax Law from St. Eligius Business School, Antwerp, Belgium. He has been a member of the Institute for Accountants and Bookkeepers (IAB) since 1983.
He commenced his professional career with SIPEF in July 1979 and has since played significant leadership roles within the Group.
He served as Chief Financial Officer of SIPEF from February 1995 to August 2007, during which he was responsible for the Group’s financial management and strategic financial planning. In September 2007, he was appointed Managing Director of SIPEF and also became a Director of the company.
During his tenure as Managing Director, which lasted until September 2024, he provided strategic leadership and contributed significantly to the growth and development of the Group’s international agribusiness operations.
Mr François Van Hoydonck also serves as a Director of Jabelmalux SA and, following his retirement as Managing Director of SIPEF on 1 September 2024, continues to serve on the SIPEF Board as a Non-Executive Director.
In addition, he serves as a Non-Executive Director of Verdant Bioscience, Singapore, and was appointed an Independent Non-Executive Director of the SIAT Group in June 2025. Mr François Van Hoydonck brings extensive expertise to the boards on which he serves in corporate governance, finance, international business management, and agribusiness operations.
