Fifty beneficiaries in Delta State have successfully completed a training program on Google Maps and Geographic Information System (GIS) technology.
The capacity-building program was held from August 17th to 21st, 2026 and it was conducted by Oke-eze Increase Nig. Ltd on behalf of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, NCDMB.
The training aimed to equip participants with practical skills in digital mapping, geospatial data collection, analysis, and application of Google mapping tools for community development, project monitoring, and decision-making.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, representatives of Oke-eze Increase Nig. Ltd said the program was designed to bridge the skills gap in geospatial technology and empower youths with tools relevant to oil and gas operations, infrastructure planning, and environmental management.
Beneficiaries were taken through modules including Google Earth Pro, GPS data capture, GIS software fundamentals, data visualization, and mapping for development projects.
Participants expressed appreciation to NCDMB for the opportunity, noting that the skills acquired will improve their employability and support local content development in the state.
The completion of the training adds to NCDMB’s ongoing efforts to upskill Nigerians in high-demand technical areas across the Niger Delta.
