The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with FAB Development Company Nigeria Limited, has completed a 5-day training and empowerment program on Electricity Meter Repairs and Electrical Distribution Switchgear for 50 beneficiaries in Kaduna State.
The program, which ran from August 10 to August 14, 2026, was designed to build local technical capacity, promote Nigerian content in the power sector, and equip participants with practical, income-generating skills.
During the training, beneficiaries received hands-on instruction on fault diagnosis, repair and calibration of electricity meters, as well as installation, maintenance, and safety procedures for electrical distribution switchgear. The curriculum was delivered by certified engineers and industry facilitators, with emphasis on safety standards, industry best practices, and entrepreneurship.
FAB Development Company Nigeria Limited, the implementing partner, commended the participants for their commitment and urged them to leverage the skills acquired to start businesses, secure employment, and contribute to improved power distribution and service delivery in their communities.
The 50 beneficiaries from across Kaduna State were presented with starter packs and certificates of completion at the end of the program.
Stakeholders described the intervention as timely, given the growing demand for qualified technicians in electricity metering and distribution across Nigeria.
