The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with ELSPAZIO NIG LTD, has commenced a 5-day intensive capacity-building program on Renewable Energy Integration for Oil & Gas Installations for 50 youths in Benin, Edo State.
The training, which began on September 28 and will run through October 2, 2026, is currently underway in Benin City.
The program is designed to equip participants with practical knowledge and emerging skills on integrating renewable energy solutions into traditional oil and gas operations — a critical step towards energy transition, sustainability, and reducing carbon footprint in the industry.
According to the organizers, the training will cover key areas such as solar and hybrid systems for oilfield installations, energy efficiency, sustainable energy design, regulatory frameworks, and the future of cleaner energy within Nigeria’s oil and gas ecosystem.
Speaking at the commencement, facilitators from Elspazio Nig Ltd emphasized the importance of preparing Nigerian youths for the evolving energy landscape, where renewable integration is no longer optional but essential for operational efficiency and environmental compliance.
The initiative is part of NCDMB’s continuous commitment to youth empowerment, human capital development, and driving Nigerian Content through strategic partnerships that promote innovation and sustainability in the oil and gas sector.
Participants expressed optimism and enthusiasm as the training progressed with hands-on sessions and expert-led engagements.
