Ecobank Transnational Incorporated (ETI) says it has cancelled its Ordinary General Meeting (OGM), scheduled for videoconference on Monday, October 26, 2026, to allow broader stakeholder consultations on matters relating to the meeting.
In a notice to shareholders, the bank said the decision followed a directive from its primary regulator, the Banking Commission of the West African Monetary Union (WAMU), requesting additional time for consultations on issues about the OGM.
ETI apologised to shareholders for any inconvenience caused by the cancellation and thanked them for their understanding and continued trust.
The notice did not specify a new date for the meeting. Further details on the consultations and the OGM rescheduling are therefore awaited.
While the notice does not disclose the specific matters requiring further consultation, the decision underscores the importance of aligning shareholder proceedings with regulatory expectations.
