The Society of Occupational and Environmental Health Physicians of Nigeria (SOEHPON) has announced Prof. Seong-Kyu Kang, President of the International Commission on Occupational Health (ICOH), as the Keynote Speaker for the Opening Session of the SOEHPON Annual International Conference and Exhibition (AISCE) 2026.
The flagship event is scheduled to take place from 23–26 November 2026 in Lagos, Nigeria, centering on the conference theme: “Digital Transformation and AI: The Future of Occupational and Environmental Health Practice in Africa.”
Distinguished Leadership in Global Health
Prof. Seong-Kyu Kang brings decades of world-class expertise in occupational health policy, research, and academic leadership:
- Global Leadership: President of ICOH, having served in various executive roles since 2009 (including Vice President, Board Member, and Editor-in-Chief of the ICOH Newsletter), and Chair of the 31st ICOH Congress in Seoul (2015).
- Academic & Scholarly Excellence: Clinical Professor at Gachon University Gil Medical Center, former Dean of the Graduate School of Public Health at Gachon University, and Editor-in-Chief of Safety and Health at Work (SH@W) since 2010.
- National Policy & Public Service: Held key leadership roles at the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency (KOSHA), including Vice President of Technology and Director General of the Occupational Safety and Health Research Institute (OSHRI).
- International Recognition: Fellow of the Collegium Ramazzini, contributor to the US CDC/NIOSH and WHO Global Network of Collaborating Centres in Occupational Health, and recipient of the Order of Merit for Excellence in Industrial Accident Prevention from the Government of the Republic of Korea.
